Regular Season Report Card: New York Islanders (8 GP)

The Islanders are off to a 4-2-2 start to the 2021-2022 campaign. It leaves with a 0.625 point percentage through 8 games played, which is a good pace if they can sustain it. It’s also come entirely on the road as the Isles start the season with a 13 game road trip waiting for their new arena to open later this month. The only reason they don’t get full marks here is the relative strength of the Metropolitan Division. Despite their good start, they sit 6th in the division due to even better starts by some of their main competition.

2021-2022 Regular Season Update: Oct 27

After last night’s games, 30 of the league’s 32 teams have played at least five games. While it’s still too early to get a good sense of which early season performances are sustainable over the long haul, we’re starting to get a better picture of how the 2021-2022 standings may look.
